Easy Pizza Dough Recipe
Here’s an easy pizza dough recipe that will help you create a classic pizza in no time. Just add two or three toppings and you’re guaranteed a delicious result. This pizza bakes easily in a regular electric oven. For best results, bake on a pizza stone, but it’s not necessary.
Easy Pizza Dough Recipe
Ingredients ( 2 medium pizzas)
- 500 g (about 4 cups) all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (7 g) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups (360 ml) warm water (not hot)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
1. Activate the Yeast
- In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar and yeast
- Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy
2. Mix the Dough
- In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt
- Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil
- Stir until the dough begins to come together
3. Knead the Dough
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface
- Knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic
4. Let it Rise
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a clean cloth or plastic wrap
- Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size
5. Shape
- Punch it down and divide into 2 balls
- Roll/stretch into your desired pizza shape
- Add sauce, cheese and your favorite toppings
6. Bake
- Preheat the oven to 245°C (475°F)
- Bake for about 8–12 minutes until golden
- Use a preheated tray or pizza stone (if you have one)
