Here’s an easy pizza dough recipe that will help you create a classic pizza in no time. Just add two or three toppings and you’re guaranteed a delicious result. This pizza bakes easily in a regular electric oven. For best results, bake on a pizza stone, but it’s not necessary.

Easy Pizza Dough Recipe

Ingredients ( 2 medium pizzas)

  • 500 g (about 4 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (7 g) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups (360 ml) warm water (not hot)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

1. Activate the Yeast

  • In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar and yeast
  • Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy

2. Mix the Dough

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt
  • Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil
  • Stir until the dough begins to come together

3. Knead the Dough

  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface
  • Knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic

4. Let it Rise

  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a clean cloth or plastic wrap
  • Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size

5. Shape

  • Punch it down and divide into 2 balls
  • Roll/stretch into your desired pizza shape
  • Add sauce, cheese and your favorite toppings

6. Bake

  • Preheat the oven to 245°C (475°F)
  • Bake for about 8–12 minutes until golden
  • Use a preheated tray or pizza stone (if you have one)
